Clifton Goes on Rampage Against Mustangs
Jim Clifton put on a hitting clinic today as the Montreal Cardinals dumped the Downsview Mustangs 19-3 at Visigoths Stadium.

The Montreal left fielder made Downsview defenders earn their pay, lashing Downsview pitching for 5 hits in 6 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."

"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Clifton said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."

Jim Clifton singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a two-run single in the 8th.

This year Clifton has hit at a .375 clip with 14 RBIs, 2 home runs and 22 runs scored.
