Conkling Helps Santa Clara Cruise to 15-3 Win
The Santa Clara Vampires cruised to a 15-3 win over the Canby Lancers at River Otters Ballpark today. David Conkling led the way, going 3-for-4 for Santa Clara. Santa Clara currently is in 5th place in the Pete Rose League Alex Rodriguez Division at 26-32.

Carlos Aguilar had a big run-scoring triple for the Vampires in the bottom of the first inning. With Santa Clara trailing 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Jim Janney and stroked the triple to left-center. It was his 2nd triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Vampires ahead, 2-1.

"We maximized our offense today," said Santa Clara skipper Juan Proenza. "That makes everyone's life easier."
