Lerna got a terrific game from shortstop Andy Johannesen. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Topeka West, 6-5. Johannesen was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Topeka West now has a 3-game win streak.

Matt Bengston, who is tied for 7th in the PRL in doubles with 18, aided the Topeka West cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh. For the game, the center fielder was 1-2 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Topeka West manager Jack Fannon.
