The Jefferson Indians got a superb performance from first baseman Gil Partin, but the Riverside Poly still won the game, 5-4. Partin was named the player of the game despite the loss. He belted 2 home runs. B.J. Dyke converted his 17th save in 19 tries. The Poly bumped their record to 31-24 with this latest triumph.

The Poly got a big at-bat from third baseman Dan Stone. For the game, Stone went 1 for 3 with a double and 2 walks. In the top of the ninth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 2nd double of the season gave Riverside a 5-4 lead.

"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Stone said.
