Lewry Slugs Islanders to 5-4 Win
|
The Hawaii Islanders eked out a 5-4 win versus the Las Vegas Aces at Aloha Stadium. Nobody did more than second baseman Ryan Lewry, who captured player of the game honors. The Islanders bumped their record to 52-35 with this latest triumph.
Lewry had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 2-2 knuckleball from Amaui Mahi'ai, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Islanders a 5-4 lead. It was the 5th home run of the year for Lewry.
Lewry told a Hawaii Bulletin reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
