Durham Goes Wild, But Mustangs Win
Jefferson got a terrific performance from right fielder Gabe Durham, but it wasn't enough to beat the San Marin Mustangs. San Marin won the Ballpark of Monterrey HS contest, 12-8. Durham was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Rob Williams picked up the win, improving his season record to 2-2. He struck out 3 in 6 innings. The Mustangs bumped their record to 28-25 with this latest triumph.

Tom Bach chipped in for San Marin with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch in the top of the sixth. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 2 runs batted in.

"This isn't football or hockey where you can overwhelm your opponents," Bach told the San Marin Chronicle. "Everyone gets 27 outs and we happened to make the most of them."
