Patriots Bang Out 10-6 Win Versus Topeka West
The George Washington Patriots topped the Topeka West Chargers, 10-6, with youngster Charlie Guppy playing a key role. Guppy was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Patriots in the win. Reliever Josh Lewis picked up the win. His record improves to 1-3. Ray Ebbing took the loss. The Patriots bumped their record to 27-26 with this latest triumph.

The Patriots got a big at-bat from catcher Andrew Bailey. For the game, Bailey went 1-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave George Washington a 5-4 lead.

"We maximized our offense today," said George Washington skipper Frank Robles. "That makes everyone's life easier."
