Multi-HR Game for Bass in 11-10 Win
|
Matt Bass made an impact in the 11-10 Francis Lewis win over Downsview. Bass, who is tied for 5th in the PRL in runs scored with 56, went 3-3 with 2 home runs and 3 walks. He scored 5 runs and drove in 2. The winner was Rich Moran, who threw 134 pitches over 5.2 innings. The left-hander was charged with 7 runs on 9 hits. The save went to Dave Peterson, his 13th this season.
Bobby Shaner, who is tied for 2nd in the PRL in doubles with 19, aided the Francis Lewis cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the ninth. For the game, the left fielder went 1 for 4 with 2 walks.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Shaner.
The Patriots bumped their record to 26-26 with this latest triumph.
