Prowlers Lose to Hornets, 8-6
|
The Eureka Hornets topped the Oklahoma City Prowlers by the score of 8-6, with the biggest share of the credit going to left fielder Juan González. González went 2 for 5 with a home run, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for the Hornets on the day. The Hornets go to 42-44, putting them second in the Thurman Munson League Sparky Anderson Division.
González contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Eureka in the top of the fourth. With his team trailing 2-0, González took a sinker from Manuel Crespo and stroked the home run to left. His 14th home run of the season allowed the Hornets to leap in front, 3-2.
"Enjoyed this one," González told the Eureka Today. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
