Curtis Blansett had a good game, but he could not keep the George Washington Patriots from falling, 11-9, to the Canby Lancers at Ballpark of Villahermosa HS. The George Washington catcher went 3-5 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3 in the loss. At 23-27, Canby is in 4th place in the Pete Rose League Roger Clemens Division.

Had Phil Beanblossom not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Beanblossom hit a 3-run home run. That made the score 11-9, in favor of the Lancers.

"We'll just keep our nose to the grindstone," Beanblossom told the Canby Daily News.
