The Montreal Cardinals grabbed a 9-4 win over the Tioga Central Tigers at Nezahualcoyotl HS Grounds. Montreal designated hitter Kasey Nylander was 4 for 5 with a triple and 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once to earn player of the game honors. The win was credited to Greg Schmidt in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Sean McCarthy took the loss. The Cardinals bumped their record to 32-18 with this latest triumph.

The Cardinals had to work out of trouble in the top of the sixth. The score was 6-3, Montreal, with two out. Tioga Central, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, was mounting a threat. Pete Valley dug in at the plate, but on a first pitch fastball, he grounded out.
