Monaco 3-5, Golden Bears Move to 30-20
|
A 5-RBI performance from Daniel Monaco, who is tied for 10th in the PRL in RBI with 52, helped the Billings West Golden Bears beat the Lerna Lions, 9-8. Nick Krueger finished to wrap up his 13th save. The Golden Bears bumped their record to 30-20 with this latest triumph.
Monaco contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Billings West in the bottom of the eighth. With his team trailing 8-5, Monaco took a fastball from Oscar Alatorre and stroked the home run to right. His 12th home run of the season allowed the Golden Bears to leap in front, 9-8.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Billings West manager Brian Neyman.
