Justin White was the difference-maker for the Pitman High Panthers in what turned into a shootout with the San Marin Mustangs. White earned the player of the game award after going 3-for-5 in the 14-13 Panthers win. The win boosts the Panthers to 19-29. The loss puts the Mustangs at 24-24.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Pitman High pinch hitter Robert Pedraza, facing Francisco Guerrero, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Panthers the 14-13 win.

San Marin manager Marcus Piscitelli expressed his frustration after the game: "That many runs and it still wasn't enough?"
