Holman scores 3 runs as Mustangs Squeeze Past San Marin

Behind a solid performance from third baseman Karl Holman, the Downsview Mustangs defeated the San Marin Mustangs, 8-7. Holman went 2-2 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 3 times and drove in 2 for the Mustangs. Jody Silvia, credited with the win, is now 1-2. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 1 innings. The last-place Mustangs lifted their record to 20-26.
Peyton Miller was 2 for 4 with 2 singles for Downsview. The 18-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 7-7 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Eric Spence. It was his 32nd RBI of the season.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Downsview manager Ralph Prince.
