Season-Ending Injury for Gerard Leeder

The season is ending on a bad note for Gerard Leeder, second baseman for the Maple Marauders. It was announced today that he will miss the rest of the season because of injury. Leeder was hurt against the Bloomington Blazers while running the bases. He suffered a strained medial collateral ligament and will be out for at least 5 weeks.

This season Leeder has banged out 164 hits in 531 at-bats for a .309 average with 35 home runs. He is getting on base at a .383 pace and his totals also include 117 RBIs and 100 runs scored.
