Year Over for Beavers Rodríguez
Friday, September 30th, 2033
The doctors have spoken and José Rodríguez of the Portland Beavers didn't like what he heard. The 22-year-old second baseman is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Rodríguez sustained his season-ending injury during the Dallas Texans game yesterday at Waterfront Park. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing the ball. Today the Portland medical staff reported Rodríguez had a torn flexor tendon in his elbow and would be absent from the lineup for at least 6 months.
Rodríguez is hitting .242 so far this season with 2 RBIs and 9 runs scored. He has 16 hits including no home runs, 2 walks and .265 OBP.
