Solís Batters New York for 5 Hits
Wednesday, June 8th, 2033
The Islanders whipped the Mafia 10-7 at Don Corleone Park and Jesús Solís had a big hand in the win. The Islanders left fielder came to the plate 6 times and collected 5 hits. It was a good day for Solís and a tough day for New York.
"I just go up there and whale away and hope it hits the barrel of the bat," he said. "There really isn't any plan."
Plan or not, Solís delivered today -- 5-for-6 is outstanding in any league. Jesús Solís doubled in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run single in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
In 34 games this season Solís has batted at a .325 pace with 39 hits and 1 home run.
