Islanders Katsuhiko Shimizu Hurt
Sunday, May 22nd, 2033
Katsuhiko Shimizu at first refused to leave today's Cabo San Lucas-Hawaii game after he suffered a fractured finger while running the bases. But his manager convinced him not to be foolish. "I want to be on the field," the feisty Hawaii shortstop said. "I'll play through just about anything." Given time to reflect on the situation, he knew it was in his best interest to get immediate treatment. The injury is expected to keep Shimizu out of action for 5 weeks.
In this current campaign Shimizu is hitting at a .295 clip with no home runs and 16 RBIs.
