Titans Lose to Patriots in Walk Off
|
The George Washington-Carl Albert game took longer to complete because of the rain. But it was worth it for the home team in the end.
Bob Gifford made an impact in the 9-5 George Washington win over Carl Albert. Gifford went 2-3 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. George Washington reliever Mike Esterline was credited with the win, to go to 1-1. Elijah Ross took the loss for Carl Albert.
Gifford had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the tenth. On a 2-2 curveball from Elijah Ross, he banged a grand slam home run to left, giving the Patriots a 9-5 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Gifford.
"Another day, another win. On to the next one," Gifford told the George Washington Times.
Even with the win, the Patriots have a dismal 12-33 record.
