Charbonnier Excels, But Cardinals Win
|
Montreal withstood an impressive performance by College first baseman Jake Charbonnier to defeat the Park, 9-8, at Nezahualcoyotl HS Grounds. Charbonnier hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. The Cardinals bumped their record to 29-15 with this latest triumph.
The Cardinals got a big at-bat from catcher Takuzo Yamamoto. For the game, Yamamoto went 2 for 4 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the seventh, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 34th hit of the season gave Montreal a 9-8 lead.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Yamamoto told the Montreal Today.
