Lions Bang Out 8-4 Win Versus Central Tech
|
The Lerna Lions topped the Central Tech Blues, 8-4, with youngster Nate Wakeley playing a key role. Wakeley was 2 for 4 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Lions in the win. Derek Stumpff earned the win to go to 2-3. He allowed 4 earned runs on 8 hits, with 4 walks and 8 strikeouts. The 5th-place Lions improved to 17-27.
J.R. Lovitt aided the Lerna cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the second baseman went 1 for 3 with a walk.
"We did more than enough to get the win," said Lovitt.
