Panthers Stymie Central Tech, Take 3-1 Win
|
The Derby Panthers and Central Tech Blues completed their game despite the inclement weather.
Derby Panthers starter Jack Warren turned in a top-notch performance against the Central Tech Blues at Oranges Ballpark. The result was a win for the Panthers, 3-1. In 6.1 innings, Warren surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Nate Taylor finished to wrap up his 10th save.
Joe Haggerty, who is tied for 8th in the PRL in bases on balls with 29, chipped in for Derby with a solo home run in the top of the fourth. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 1 RBI.
"I like what I saw today," said Derby manager Daniel Hills, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
Derby is now riding a 3-game win streak.
