The Montreal Cardinals trumped the Canby Lancers, 6-3, at Nezahualcoyotl HS Grounds. Montreal catcher Takuzo Yamamoto was named player of the game for his performance. He went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. Andy Robotti, credited with the win, is now 4-3. He allowed 3 runs on 8 hits in 8 innings. The Cardinals bumped their record to 27-13 with this latest triumph.

Yamamoto had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a 0-1 curveball from Jim Casey, he banged a grand slam home run to left, giving the Cardinals a 6-3 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Yamamoto.

"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Yamamoto said.
