Takuzo Yamamoto was instrumental in his team's 8-6 triumph over the Canby Lancers. The catcher was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Montreal Cardinals. Montreal reliever David Cribb picked up the win to move to 6-1. Dave MacDougall suffered the loss. Montreal has an impressive 26-13 record.

Yamamoto had a game-changing single in the bottom of the eighth. On a 1-1 fastball from Larry Brunson, he banged a 2-run single to center, giving the Cardinals a 8-6 lead. It was the 30th hit of the year for Yamamoto.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Yamamoto told the Montreal Today.
