Patriots Prevail, 3-2, Over Lerna
|
Francis Lewis starter Stephon Jackson pitched effectively against the Lerna Lions at Ottawa HS Grounds. The left-hander led his team to a 3-2 win. Tommy Burhoe earned the save for Francis Lewis, his 11th. The first-place Patriots now have a 4-game winning streak.
Kevin Connell did the little things right to help the team for Francis Lewis. The 18-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With two out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring strikeout off John Woods. It was his 20th RBI of the season.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Connell said.
