Mafia Continue Skid Thanks to Villa, Jacks
|
The New York Mafia and Jacksonville Jacks were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd at Don Corleone Park.
Benefiting from Juan Villa's productive game, the Jacksonville Jacks downed the New York Mafia, 13-1. Villa was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Jacks. Jacksonville starter John Spracklin was credited with the win after throwing 116 pitches over 7.2 innings. His record now stands at 1-1.
The Jacks got a big at-bat from left fielder Baber Khan. For the game, Khan was 1 for 5 with a triple. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run triple. His 1st triple of the season gave Jacksonville a 2-0 lead.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Villa.
Jacksonville, now 7-2, has gotten their season off to a good start.
