The Pleasantville Panthers downed the San Marin Mustangs, 7-2, at Silvertips Ballpark. Bruce Allison led the way, going 3-for-3 for Pleasantville. The Panthers, now at 21-14, know that wins in April count the same as wins in September.

Despite the loss, the Panthers got an encouraging performance from 18-year-old Josh Conklin. In the bottom of the third, he hit a 2-run single to make the score 4-2, San Marin.

"It's not easy for a young guy to go out there and perform," Panthers manager Bobby Lowenstein said. "But he did it like one of the vets."
