Golden Bears Prevail, 8-7, Over Derby
The Billings West Golden Bears stopped the Derby Panthers, 8-7, at Guadalajara HS Grounds. The Golden Bears got a big game from Atsushi Takeshita, who was 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Wally Blake earned the save, his 1st, for the Golden Bears. The Golden Bears bumped their record to 18-16 with this latest triumph.

Takeshita contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Billings West in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 3-2, Takeshita took a fastball from Joe Fuqua and stroked the home run to left. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Golden Bears to leap in front, 6-3.

"We maximized our offense today," said Billings West skipper Brian Neyman. "That makes everyone's life easier."
