The Riverside Poly got a rather unremarkable outing from starting pitcher Chris Phillips, but it was good enough for the club to take a 5-1 decision over the San Marin Mustangs. Riverside now has a 4-game win streak.

One pivotal at-bat came in the top of the fifth with one out. With runners on 1st and 2nd and the Mustangs trailing 4-1, Chris Phillips needed to make a quality pitch. He threw a first pitch cutter to retire Freddy Ramos, who popped out.
