Chargers Lose, 6-3, at Nezahualcoyotl HS Grounds

Montreal and Topeka West duked it out at Nezahualcoyotl HS Grounds and the Cardinals came out victorious.
Montreal right fielder Dave Adickes made his presence felt in the 6-3 Cardinals triumph over the Topeka West Chargers. Adickes went 3-4 with 2 doubles, while scoring 2 runs. Butch Haynes closed the door for Montreal, picking up his 6th save of the year.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the fifth, with the game tied, Adam Clifton was at the plate when Montreal scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Cardinals to go in front, 3-2.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Adickes said after the game.
The Cardinals bumped their record to 21-9 with this latest triumph.
