Panthers Sneak Past Tigers, 5-4
The Derby Panthers picked up a win at Alleycats Ballpark, knocking off the Tioga Central Tigers, 5-4. Starting pitcher Larry Sceviour, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Nate Taylor closed the door for Derby, picking up his 7th save of the year. The Panthers bumped their record to 16-14 with this latest triumph.

The Panthers got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Chris Smallwood. For the game, Smallwood was 1-1 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the top of the ninth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 2nd double of the season gave Derby a 5-4 lead.

"Feels good to get the job done," Smallwood said after the game.
