Multi-HR Day for Grimes as Tigers Overpower Patriots, 11-6
|
The Tioga Central Tigers reigned over the George Washington Patriots in damp conditions at Alleycats Ballpark.
The Tioga Central Tigers downed the George Washington Patriots, 11-6, at Alleycats Ballpark. The Tigers were led by Brendan Grimes, who captured player of the game honors. He hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Pat Bonham picked up the win, improving his season record to 4-1. He struck out 7 in 7.1 innings.
Jesse Sheehy, who is tied for 7th in the PRL in stolen bases with 4, chipped in for Tioga Central with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Grimes said after the game.
