Victory Pushes Lions Record to 6-4
|
Saitama Seibu Lions starter Taisuke Nakamoto was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the ORIX Buffaloes, 3-2. Mikiya Kubo saved it for Saitama Seibu. The Buffaloes fall to 5-5 and continue their uneasy start to the 2033 season.
Had Takahiko Shimabukuro not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 1st, Shimabukuro hit a 2-run home run. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Lions.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Saitama Seibu manager Lawrence Roberts.
