With third baseman Marc Collins leading the charge, the Hiroshima Toyo Carp defeated the Yomiuri Giants, 14-1, at Ballpark of Yamagata College. Collins went 3-4 with a triple and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Takao Koyama, who went 5.1 innings, was the winning pitcher.
