7-2 Win by Aces Continues Hot Start
|
The Columbus Aces picked up a win at Central Park Downtown Stadium, knocking off the Hawaii Islanders, 7-2. Starting pitcher Dave Garcia, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. The Aces, now 5-2, have been on a roll in the early going.
The Aces got a big at-bat from center fielder Callum Mannion. For the game, Mannion was 3 for 4 with a triple and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run triple. His 1st triple of the season gave Columbus a 2-0 lead.
"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Garcia.
