Victory Pushes Prowlers Record to 47-34
|
The Oklahoma City Prowlers got a strong performance from pitcher Manuel Crespo, who stymied the Hawaii offense en route to a 4-2 win at Memorial Circle Park. Soleh Purbacaraka was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 26 of 29 save opportunities. The Prowlers, at 47-34, lead by one game in their division.
The Prowlers got a big at-bat from first baseman Jorge Sánchez. For the game, Sánchez went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Oklahoma City a 3-1 lead.
After the game, Oklahoma City manager Jorge Valdéz applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
