Lions Prevail, 5-4, Over Francis Lewis
|
Ballpark of Ecatepec HS was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Lerna Lions and the Francis Lewis Patriots.
The Lerna Lions defeated the Francis Lewis Patriots, 5-4, in Pete Rose League action at Ballpark of Ecatepec HS, with Lerna pitcher Jacob Olsen named player of the game. Olsen picked up the win for Lerna, going 8 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 4-1.
Logan DiPirro put Lerna in front, 5-0, when he took Dave Peterson downtown. His 3-run home run came with two out in the bottom of the fourth. It was his 8th home run of the season.
"I liked his command," said Lerna manager Nick Riddick. "Jacob was throwing strikes."
Lerna is now 10-17, while Francis Lewis is 17-10.
