Mustangs Sneak Past Vampires, 7-6
The Downsview Mustangs and Santa Clara Vampires obliged those fans who came to Visigoths Stadium hoping for an exciting game.

The Downsview Mustangs beat the Santa Clara Vampires, 7-6 at Visigoths Stadium, in part due to first baseman Kevin Ryan, who nabbed player of the game honors. He was 2-3 with 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Casey Johnson earned the save, his 6th.

Dallas Lingo found himself in a pressure situation in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Santa Clara hurler Ryan Ballard, the 18-year-old shortstop reached on an error by the P, driving in 1 run. His 10th RBI of the season put the Mustangs on top, 7-6.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Ryan. "And not try to do too much."

Downsview is now 11-16, Santa Clara 8-19.
