Tight Tilt Goes to Titans, 4-3
|
Seth Day did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Pitman High Panthers from losing, 4-3, to the Carl Albert Titans at Batfish Ballpark. Day went 2 for 2 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Forbes Raynor was the winning pitcher. Over 6.1 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 7 hits, with 4 walks and 6 strikeouts. Matthew Miller closed the game out for Carl Albert, earning his 6th save.
Felício Tierno hit a 2-run double off Jonathan Anderson in the top of the third, which put the Titans in front, 4-3. In addition to the double, Tierno had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 4.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Carl Albert manager Felipe Espinoza.
The Titans now have a mark of 11-15.
