Grand Island starter J.D. Lindsey pitched effectively against the San Marin Mustangs at Ballpark of Morelia HS. The right-hander led his team to a 6-3 win. Bob Upton earned save number 1. The Islanders bumped their record to 15-10 with this latest triumph.

Kevin McCarthy, who is the 2nd-best prospect in the Islanders organization, aided the Grand Island cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the center fielder was 1 for 3 with a walk.

"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Lindsey.
