Loss to Cardinals Extends Lerna Losing Streak
|
The Montreal Cardinals knocked off the Lerna Lions, 9-6, at Nezahualcoyotl HS Grounds. Adam Clifton was named player of the game for Montreal. He produced 1 single and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Montreal starter Antonio Pichardo was credited with the win after throwing 108 pitches over 7 innings. His record now stands at 4-0. The Cardinals, now at 18-6, know that wins in April count the same as wins in September.
Clifton had a big at-bat with the bases loaded in the bottom of the fifth inning, when he hit a bases-clearing double. The Cardinals went on to win.
"Everyone's kind of edgy right now," said losing manager Nick Riddick, "but nothing a couple of wins wouldn't cure."
