Victory Pushes Poly Record to 14-9
|
The Riverside Poly beat the Jacksonville State Jaguars, 10-4, at Apollos Ballpark. Riverside first baseman Aiden Weil earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He was 2 for 4 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The second-place Poly have won 6 straight.
Early in the game, designated hitter Andrew Tipton had a 2-run home run for Riverside. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Poly on top, 2-0.
"The boys came out and just played their butts off," said Riverside manager Gary Corwin.
