Chargers Get Road Win, 7-4
|
Topeka West and San Marin duked it out at Silvertips Ballpark and the Chargers came out victorious.
Gil Mitchell helped his team muscle past the San Marin Mustangs, 7-4. In the game, the Topeka West catcher went 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Randy Mawhirter picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-1. Eric Spence was tagged with the loss.
Dave Revels aided the Topeka West cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh. For the game, the first baseman went 3-4 with 3 singles.
"I like the roll we're on," said Topeka West manager Jack Fannon.
The winning streak has now reached 5 games for the Chargers.
