The Tenafly Tigers topped the Pitman High Panthers, 4-2, in Pete Rose League action at Batfish Ballpark. The player of the game was Tenafly pitcher and Toronto, Canada native Matt Tanner. Tenafly reliever Shane Roeske picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Adam Diedrick was saddled with the loss. Justin Swiss locked down his 2nd save.

The Tigers got a big at-bat from first baseman Logan Melton. For the game, Melton was 1 for 5 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the top of the ninth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Tenafly a 4-2 lead.

"Matt was throwing strikes, locating well," said Tenafly manager Jim Branch.

Tenafly is now 8-12, while Pitman High is 9-11.
