Behind a solid performance from catcher Gil Mitchell, the Topeka West Chargers defeated the Kearny High Cardinals, 7-5. Mitchell was 3 for 5 with a home run and a triple, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for the Chargers. Jabari Hailey was credited with the save for Topeka West, his 4th of the season. Topeka West now has a 3-game win streak.

Mitchell had a key at-bat for Topeka West early in the game. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and gave Topeka West an early 2-0 lead.

"It wasn't our best performance," said Mitchell, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
