Victory Over Jaguars Takes Francis Lewis to 12-6
The Francis Lewis Patriots defeated the Jacksonville State Jaguars, 10-5, at Ottawa HS Grounds today. Leading the charge for Francis Lewis was center fielder Rene Hernandez. He was 3 for 4 with a triple, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Francis Lewis has an impressive 12-6 record.

Despite the loss, the Patriots got an encouraging performance from 17-year-old Malachi Pugh. In the top of the ninth, he hit a 2-run double to make the score 10-5, Jacksonville State.

"It's not easy for a young guy to go out there and perform," Patriots manager Justin Easton said. "But he did it like one of the vets."
