Richard Goes Wild, But Blues Win
Billings West left fielder Justin Richard had a good game, even if his team did not. The Golden Bears dropped a 13-11 decision to Central Tech at Guadalajara HS Grounds. Richard went 4-5 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Steve Steenburg got the win, improving to 2-0. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 9 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 5. The third-place Blues lifted their record to 10-7.

Paul Range was one of the major contributors to the win for Central Tech. The light-hitting left fielder stroked a double to left in the top of the sixth inning. For the day, he was 2 for 5 with a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2.

"It was one of those games where both teams were swinging the bat well," Range said.
