Pioneers Deal Toreros Painful Loss
|
Cabo San Lucas center fielder Gérard Lacroix had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 9-8, to Vancouver at "The Fort" at B.C. Place. Lacroix was 2-2 with 2 home runs and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Vancouver reliever Mitsuharu Shionoya picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Tony Varela absorbed the loss. The Pioneers have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 2nd win in 9 games.
Luis Galindo had a nice at-bat for the Pioneers with two out in the bottom of the ninth. With runners on 1st and 2nd, the center fielder reached on an error by the 3B, which would prove important in the Vancouver win.
"I'm trying to keep it simple," said Galindo. "Just do my job."
