7-2 Win by Cardinals Continues Hot Start
|
The Montreal Cardinals faced a tough opponent in Derby pitcher Greg Keelan, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Managua HS Grounds by a final score of 7-2. Keelan went 7.1 innings and allowed 5 earned runs. Montreal reliever David Cribb picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Greg Keelan absorbed the loss. Kevin Williams earned the save, his 1st, for the Cardinals.
Matt Hiller helped out the Montreal cause in the top of the second inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the designated hitter went 2 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Montreal manager Hector Corretjer.
Montreal has an impressive 11-4 record.
