Islanders Lose, 4-1, at Apollos Ballpark
The Riverside Poly picked up a win at Apollos Ballpark, knocking off the Grand Island Islanders, 4-1. Starting pitcher Chris Phillips played a key role in the triumph. Shane DeFalco earned the save, his 1st. Grand Island has now lost 5 consecutive games.

The Poly benefited from a costly error in the bottom of the fifth. With Andrew Tipton at bat and Riverside leading 1-0, the Grand Island miscue allowed Riverside to plate 1 and take the lead, 2-0.

"This isn't football or hockey where you can overwhelm your opponents," Tipton told the Riverside Daily News. "Everyone gets 27 outs and we happened to make the most of them."
